Ajman: The Thumbay Sports Festival, a highly anticipated interschool sports event, officially kicked off with a Draw of Lots ceremony on November 2nd. This exciting competition, organized by the Thumbay Group, brings together private schools across Ajman, offering schoolchildren the opportunity to excel in sports and develop their athletic potential.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Farhad, Board Member of Thumbay Group and Director of Hospitality & Legal, who welcomed the Chief Guest, Ms. Afraa Bin Hindi, Education Affairs Director, and expressed his enthusiasm about the event. Mr. Farhad highlighted that the Body and Soul Health Club is committed to organizing events that positively impact the community, particularly by promoting athletics in Ajman. He also shared the Body and Soul vision of making athletes “from Zero to Hero,” helping them reach their highest potential and represent Ajman at higher-level sports competitions.
“Body and Soul Health Club is proud to host events like these that not only unite the community but also challenge students to push their limits and strive for excellence in sports. Our goal is to develop young athletes who can go on to represent Ajman at the national and international level,” said Mr. Farhad.
Ms. Afraa Bin Hindi, the Education Affairs Director, also shared her appreciation for Thumbay Group’s initiative. She commended the Thumbay Sports Festival as an important platform for students to enhance both their athletic abilities and personal growth. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of sports in today’s fast-paced, AI-driven world and highlighted how such initiatives contribute to the holistic development of children.
“I am very happy to see Thumbay Group taking this great initiative to engage the students of Ajman in sports. Events like these not only offer students a chance to develop their physical and mental skills but also help them grow into well-rounded individuals, which is essential in today’s fast-moving world,” said Ms. Afraa Bin Hindi.
The Draw of Lots ceremony also sparked excitement among the participating schools. Dr. Vishal, Principal of DPS School, commended the efforts of the Body and Soul team for organizing the Thumbay Sports Festival. He praised the initiative for providing a valuable platform where students can showcase their sportsmanship and athleticism.
PT teachers from various schools, including City American School, expressed their excitement for the upcoming competition. One of the PT teachers from City American School said, “Our team is highly motivated and ready to take on the competition. We are thrilled about the tournament and are aiming for victory!”
