| ::: Note from Club Manager |
Zain Subzwari our junior member has become the 1st Junior Table Tennis Champ. The competition was held last April 16, 2009 in Body and Soul table tennis room. It was really a tough time for refrees as the competition was very healthy between two brothers. We had best of three which finally gave us the winner.
I would like to thank all participants and their parents for supporting this event by encouraging their kids. We hope seeing you in next year's tournament. |
 |
| As we saw the interest of our junior members in the competition, we have decided to have lot more actions for them which you can see in the coming months. As a part of this we have organized a self defense workshop with United Karate Sports Centre on Tuesday, May 26th. |

::: HEALTH BITES::: |
| F A T : |
The major kinds of fats in the foods we eat are saturated, polyunsaturated, monounsaturated and Trans fatty acids. Saturated fats and Trans fats raise blood cholesterol.
Limit foods high in saturated fat, trans fat and/or cholesterol, such as whole-milk dairy products, fatty meats, tropical oils, partially hydrogenated vegetable oils and egg yolks. Instead choose foods low in saturated fat, trans fat and cholesterol. Here are some helpful tips: |
|
- Eat a variety of fruits and vegetables.
- Eat a variety of grain products, including whole grains.
- Eat fish at least twice a week, particularly fatty fish.
- Include fat-free and low-fat milk products, legumes (beans), skinless poultry and lean meats.
Saturated fat intake should not exceed 7 percent of total calories each day. Trans fat intake should not exceed 1 percent of total calories each day.
Total fat intake (saturated, trans, monounsaturated, polyunsaturated) should be adjusted to fit total caloric needs. Overweight people should consume no more than 30 percent of total calories from fat.
